Had a similar or the same problem, my ping was steady round about 11-13 but, i got packages In/Out Loss between 5/5 in Average and 20/20 in Peak. The Problem: My Router got struggle to manage IPV6-Protokoll together with DOTA 2. The Cure: Deaktivate the IPV6-Protokoll in the Network-Adapter Settings. No Problem any more 🙂

Lately my ping in dota has been extremely high, i'm talking an average of 500 ping and I don't know what to do about it. When the game starts my ping is around 100 then it just shoots up to 500-1000, goes down for a few sec and then goes up again. It is making it impossible to play and is very frustrating.
